Art-Inspired Curved Crease Origami Research
Origami, the art of paper folding, transforms flat sheets of paper into complex three-dimensional objects and finds applications in fields such as design and engineering. Beyond traditional straight fold lines, some artistic explorations use curved creases to create intricate and aesthetic sculptures with relatively few creases. In her talk, she will review the mathematical foundations of computational curved crease origami and present recent theoretical results inspired by artistic studies.
Klara is passionate about geometry and computational origami. She recently completed her Ph.D. in Computer Science at MIT and holds a master’s degree in Mathematics from TU Wien. Klara writes software for curved crease origami design and enjoys interdisciplinary collaboration, often working with artists and designers.
