The Martin Gardner Papers at StanfordThis talk will be based on the paper Stan has in “A Bouquet for the Gardner”. It will be about the archive left to Stanford. This archive contains Martin Gardner’s files, a large set of letters and materials about his columns, and another set about mathematics in general.
Stan will discuss how to get to the Stanford catalog to see the listings of the contents and the current Stanford rules about coming to the campus and looking at some of the boxes.
Stan Isaacs retired from a lifetime career as a programmer to teach computing at the College of San Mateo. He now has time to pursue his avocations – mathematics, mechanical puzzles, and dancing. He brings puzzles from his collection to math festivals at schools to introduce young people to math through fun.
