Adrian Fisher, Maze Maker – An illustrated talk
Adrian’s illustrated talk shows the range of his mazes, where the fun of solving each maze is heightened by finding their hidden meanings; his latest landscape projects include the hedge maze in the film Saltburn. He creates tilings and tessellations, and his colouring pattern books have been of great therapeutic value to refugee children from Ukraine. He has been piloting drones for 10 years to photograph mazes, folly towers, iron-age hill forts and medieval castles. He recently invented the puzzle Castle Conquest together with Oskar van Deventer and Wei-Hwa Huang.
There will also be the opportunity to ask questions.
Adrian Fisher is the world’s leading maze designer, having created over 700 mazes across 43 countries since 1979. Adrian and his wife Marie live in the village of Durweston in Dorset, England, where in their garden they have a hedge maze, and a folly tower with spiral staircase and battlements.
In October 2020 at Windsor Castle, Adrian Fisher received from the Princess Royal the honour of Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2020 Queen’s Birthday Honours, for services to International Trade and the Creative Industries.
