Friday News Mar 07: Weekly Socials,

  • G4G Weekly Socials

Our weekly Socials are held on Saturday at 1 pm Atlanta time (check the time for you here).

We are using the Zoom Meeting platform here (not Zoom Webinar as we do for our monthly CoM presentations on the 21st). So for these Saturday socials we will all be able to see each other.

    Upcoming Sessions:

Sat 08 Mar – WWMG? = What Would Martin Gardner Think?

The world order in the West is severely challenged by the random and cruel chaos emanating on an almost hourly basis from the White House in Washington.  Europe is pivoting already; this has not happened in my lifetime.

Let’s discuss tomorrow and try to find hope in these bleak times.

    Sat 15 Mar –
“Rediscovering Martin Gardner’s Mathematical Games column”
    Sat 22 Mar –
    TBA
    Sat 29 Mar –
    TBA

We welcome theme suggestions for the G4G Weekend Socials. Would you like to lead such a social, perhaps with a fresh look at a favorite Martin Gardner column (or book)? A  piece on critical thinking? A miscellaneous theme? Please contact us.

All information can be found here.

  • G4G15 Videos

As for past G4Gn videos of the flash talks presented at the Gathering will be shared publicly on the web. We are uploading new videos weekly to our YouTube channel. You can find the latest videos here.

  • G4G Tributes

It is with sadness that G4G notes the passing of long time G4G community member Adam Atkinson on Dec 8, 2024.

We continue to update and maintain multiple tribute pages. In this we hope to honour and remember the many who have made the G4G community the remarkable group it is. As well as to inspire and connect those who build on the shoulders of these giants. We welcome and encourage any contribution to these tributes. To share your memories or anecdotes, please email us, support@g4gfoundation.org
