G4G Weekly Socials
Our weekly Socials are held on Saturday at 1 pm Atlanta time (check the time for you here).
We are using the Zoom Meeting platform here (not Zoom Webinar as we do for our monthly CoM presentations on the 21st). So for these Saturday socials we will all be able to see each other.
Upcoming Sessions:Sat 07 June – Scott Kim on “Classifying Puzzles”
“Continuing my series on the Art of Puzzle Design, this week I’ll talk about how to classify puzzles. Every classification system has an agenda. Puzzle collector Jerry Slocum created an extensive classification system out of a practical need to catalog his vast collection of mechanical puzzles. As a puzzle designer, my agenda is to map the space of possibilities, so I can generate new types of puzzles, and understand how puzzles are related. Join me as we attempt to determine the dimensions that define the space of all possible puzzles.
Sat 14 June – David Kahn with STEM Success: Hope, with a plan!
David mentioned during his six minute G4G14 talk (YouTube) that he’s tackling the issue of people making decisions and voting based on untruths and poor reasoning. He has continued to refine his approach, clarifying obstacles, and identifying possible solutions. He is preparing a presentation and slide deck explaining his approach, and looks forward to sharing a draft with the G4G community. He is looking for feedback and welcomes ideas that will help achieve the goal of improved decision making.

G4G Tributes
It is with sadness that G4G notes the passing of long time G4G community member Adam Atkinson on Dec 8, 2024.
We continue to update and maintain multiple tribute pages. In this we hope to honour and remember the many who have made the G4G community the remarkable group it is. As well as to inspire and connect those who build on the shoulders of these giants. We welcome and encourage any contribution to these tributes.
