Remarkable Sequences from the First 400,000 Entries in the OEIS

To celebrate the On-Line Encyclopedia of Integer Sequences reaching 400,000 entries, which should happen this month, I will describe some of the highlights of the database, including the scariest sequence, the most musical, the funniest, the best rug design, the best and the
worst contributions from AI, the most wanted prime, the most wanted proof, the shortest and the longest finite sequences, and the hottest new sequence.

Neil J. A. Sloane (Visiting Scholar, Rutgers University, Piscataway, NJ; The OEIS Foundation, Highland Park, NJ) is an acclaimed British-American mathematician best known as the creator and longtime curator of the On-Line Encyclopedia of Integer Sequences (OEIS), widely considered one of modern mathematics’ most vital digital resources. During an extensive, award-winning research career at Bell Labs and AT&T Labs, he made seminal contributions to combinatorics, discrete geometry, and coding theory, co-authoring standard reference texts such as The Theory of Error-Correcting Codes and Sphere Packings, Lattices and Groups. A member of the US National Academy of Engineering as well as a Fellow of the IEEE and AMS, Sloane continues his mathematical research, public lectures, and leadership as Chairman of the OEIS Foundation.

    Hello Neil,
    I’m happy for this gathering reminding me such good moments shared with you and Eric Angelini !!!
    Unfortunately, I will not be able to follow it live, nor the social after, for good artistic reasons : we have an important rehearsal for a concert to come.
    I hope your gathering will soon be published on line and visible these days!
    We still miss Eric ; there is a little WhatsApp group of friends and his family in hommage to him, maintaining his way of exchanging news about art and science.
    I wish you a very good gathering and “after”.
