The Carthage College Psi Chi Honors
Society and the Department of Psychological Science are pleased to present the 7th
annual Martin Gardner Celebration of Mind on Saturday,
November 12th from 1:00-3:00pm
Every fall, people
around the world gather to honor the legacy of magician, mathematician,
skeptic, puzzler, Lewis Carroll scholar, and science writer, Martin
Gardner. This year’s Celebration
of Mind will take on a new form: “Martin’s
Amazing Race!”
Teams of four from
Carthage student organizations will compete in a scavenger hunt, solving
puzzles, completing physical challenges, and testing their wits. Prizes will be awarded to the top three
teams. The top team’s student organization will win a pizza party!
The hunt will begin and
end in the Straz Atrium. While teams will be traversing campus to complete the
challenges, an audience will cheer on the teams through video feeds displayed
on the video wall of the Straz Atrium. The audience will also have the opportunity
to try their hands at the challenges teams are facing. Other student org
members are invited to support their representatives!
