At our pavilion, people visit and play with puzzles and games, including the games Martin Gardner invented: “The Game of Solomon” and “Lewis Carroll’s Chess Wordgame”. Visitors will hear about recreational mathematics, embodied in our grand display of beautiful puzzles we’ve designed and made over the last 35 years. They will hear the story of how Martin inspired Kate to develop this product line, starting with pentominoes. With all purchases they will also receive a special puzzle souvenir (based on the number 100) and a page of explanation about the Celebration of Mind including links to your website.
We’ll have the Celebration of Mind for both days of the Renaissance Festival season’s ninth and last weekend, Oct. 18-19, 2014. The festival is open from 10AM to 7PM. Because of the 16th century format, only visitors can bring video cameras. We will try discreetly to get some photos, as in previous years.
