Smullyan, a close friend of Martin Gardner, was one of the most relevant recreational mathematicians that ever lived, having published many masterpieces on recreational logic. Books like «What is the name of this book?», «The chess mysteries of the Arabian knights», and «The riddle of Scheherazade» are pearls in this field. The Island of Knights and Knaves and chessboards where detectives and kings solve problems using retrograde analysis are two magic realms of pure creativity. In this talk, we will show some examples of his outstanding recreational work.
