The idea to run a CoM event at GSU comes from the understanding and awareness of the need to popularize math. The aim of this project is to reach out to audiences who in principle reject math. Following the legacy of Gardner, we want to prove to them that math can be fun; in fact, math is fun. Magic tricks, puzzle, brainteasers, challenges, or even music shows can be used to kindle interest in math. Every magic tricks poses a problem and that is: how did the magician do it? That sense of awe before the magic trick can be transmuted into mathematical curiosity, and Martin Gardner left us many examples of how to achieve this.
