Friday News May 08: Weekly Socials, May CoM, New YT Videos

  • G4G Weekly Socials

Our weekly Socials are held on Sunday at 1 pm Atlanta time (check the time for you here).

We are using the Zoom Meeting platform here (not Zoom Webinar as we do for our monthly CoM presentations on the 21st). So for these Saturday socials we will all be able to see each other.

    Upcoming Sessions:

Sun 10 May – “Martin Gardner’s Many Alter Egos” by Dana Richards

Martin Gardner published under a dozen nom de plumes, from Polly Pigtails and Dr Matrix to Uriah Fuller. Dana Richards will explain.

Find one you like, and tell us about it tomorrow.

We welcome theme suggestions for the G4G Weekend Socials. Would you like to lead such a social, perhaps with a fresh look at a favorite Martin Gardner column (or book)? A  piece on critical thinking? A miscellaneous theme? Please contact us.

All information can be found here.

  • Virtual Celebration of Mind

We continue our series of online seminars, Virtual Celebration of Mind, that started in 2020. The sessions are at 12 noon Atlanta time (check your time here) held on zoom webinar, here.

Tuesday May 21, at 12 noon ET, Atlanta Local Time, we return for another Virtual Celebration of mind. The title of this month’s presentation is “Advancing the Palindrome: Aelindromes by Anthony Etherin. This presentation will happen on Zoom Webinar. We’ll also meet in another Zoom Room, where everyone will be able to see each other, right after this presentation.

  • G4G Tributes

We continue to update and maintain multiple tribute pages. In this we hope to honour and remember the many who have made the G4G community the remarkable group it is. As well as to inspire and connect those who build on the shoulders of these giants. We welcome and encourage any contribution to these tributes. To share your memories or anecdotes, please email us, support@g4gfoundation.org
