Gather.town Social
Our Gather.town events continue every Saturday at 12 noon ET (17:00 UTC) in Gather.town.
Upcoming get togethers are:
– 09 Dec “Introduction to the game of Go” with David KahnDescription: David will introduce the game of Go, and play some teaching games with volunteers. Go is usually taught by playing a game with a beginner and talking about it, while other beginners watch. This can be easily done with a meeting tool (like Gather) and an online Go server.
Several optional things folks can do in advance (if interested):
There is a brief introduction to Go on YouTube here. (19 minutes) I will cover the same material at the start of the meeting.
If you would like to play a teaching game with me during the social while others watch, you can sign up for a free account on the Online Go Server here. Create an account with a username and email address - don’t sign in with Google, Facebook, etc. I can also talk someone through this process during the meeting.Details on Gather.town Socials, here.
