Below we list, in monthly order, several events that are of interest to our community. RMC | G4G Europe 

The Recreational Mathematics Colloquium VII | Gathering for Gardner Europe is organized by the Ludus Association. Mathematicians, teachers, and other professionals meet to exchange ideas on recreational mathematics. The next meeting will take place January 26 – 29, 2022, in S. Miguel, Azores, Portugal.

BGSC

The Board Game Studies Colloquium gathers a wide range of scholars, curators, inventors, collectors and game enthusiasts at an annual in April/May. The focus has traditionally been on board, card, and dice games, but recently attention has been given to the current explosion in non-digital gaming. The next meeting will be held in 13-16 April 2021 in Paris, France.

National Math Festival

The National Math Festival is a showcase of mathematics for the general public which happens biannually in Spring. It usually takes place in Washington, DC with parallel events at science centers nationwide. The next festival will happen online on April 16 –18, 2021.

Bridges Conference

The Bridges Conference on mathematical connections in art, music, architecture, education, and culture takes place annually, in late July or early August; it is interdisciplinary and of interest to, among others, artists, mathematicians and teachers. “The goal of the Bridges Organization is to foster research, practice, and new interest in mathematical connections to art, music, architecture, education and culture.”

MOVES

The MoMath MOVES Conference takes place every two years in August, at the National Museum of Mathematics in New York City. It is a dedicated meeting on recreational mathematics; prior meetings have had themes like origami, oragic of mathematics, with participants from multiple fields of research. The next meeting will take place August 8 – 10, 2021.

Celebration of Mind

The Celebration of Mind events are a celebration of the work of Martin Gardner, aimed at a general public worldwide. Traditionally they take place near the end of October, close to the birthday of Martin Gardner, on October 21. You can find past events and ideas on https://www.celebrationofmind.org

Spiel

The Internationale Spieltage SPIEL takes place in Essen, Germany. It is the worlds biggest board game fair. It takes place mid Fall. The next edition will be held in an online format October October 22 – 25, 2020.

MathsJam

The annual MathsJam is held in Yarnfield Park, United Kingdom, on a weekend in November. It is intended as a a get-together of mathematics enthusiasts of all types.

There are also monthly MathsJams that happen locally in multiple places all over the world (find them here); you can probably find one near you or create your own in case there is none.

ChiTAG

The Chicago Toy & Game Fair – North America’s largest toy & game fair open to the general public. It offers several events and interactive exhibits taking place in the late Fall. The next edition will be November 21 – 22, 2020 in online format.
