We’ll be holding the seventh annual Celebration on Mind this Tuesday, October 20, 2014 in Brookline.
Please let us know if you’d like to give a short presentation, and feel free to bring along any interesting items you’d like to share with the group. Among other things, I’ll be bringing the Big Ben Puzzle, which won this year’s Grand Jury award at IPP35 in Ottawa (See all the winners at http://www.johnrausch.com/DesignCompetition/). It’s a brilliant design by the late John Moores, Junichi Yananose, and Brian Young. It was an exchange puzzle at last year’s IPP34 on London. I’ll also be bringing Gary Foshee’s wonderful Transparent Lock and a selection of favorites from my collection, including Oskar’s 3D Playground.
As usual, we’ll hold the event at the Brookline Senior Center, 93 Winchester Street, Brookline, MA, from 6PM tp 9PM. We’ll begin with an informal reception and light refreshments from 6PM – 6:30PM, and have presentations and demonstrations from 6:30PM to 9PM.
David Leschinsky of Eureka! Puzzles (1349 Beacon Street, Brookline, MA 02446) and Chris Morgan will again co-host. The excellent venue ‚ the Brookline Senior Center ‚ is the same as we’ve used in years past. Eureka! Puzzles is a five minute walk from the Senior Center, if you want to stop by before the event.
Directions:
By Green Line:
The Boston T Subway Green line is an excellent way to get to our event: Take the Cleveland Circle Green Line outbound to the Coolidge Corner stop. If you’d like to visit Eureka! Puzzles first, they’re located on the South side of Beacon Street, just one block west of Harvard Street. To get to the Gardner event from Eureka, walk≈õa west on Beacon Street for two blocks, then turn right on Winchester Street. Number 93 is three blocks up on the right. It’s about a five minute walk.
By Car:
There is abundant street parking in the neighborhood of the Senior Center. See map at:http://tinyurl.com/nez8a7p
Thanks; we look forward to seeing all of you!
